My name is Karoly Szatmari, I was born in 1987 in Budapest. I am a freelance documentary photographer living in both Hungary and Germany. I began my career as a photo editor at Népszabadság , the largest Hungarian independent daily political newspaper until the newspaper’s closure.
I first obtained my Photojournalism certification in 2018 from the National Association of Hungarian Journalists and continued my studies at the VII Academy as scholar in 2023.
For me, documentary photography is a communication channel that showcases our times through individual human stories.
