In December 2018, Hungary saw a wave of anti-government protests triggered by a turbulent parliamentary session and a series of contested policy changes. Demonstrators rallied primarily against a labor law amendment widely dubbed the “slave law,” and against plans to reshape the court system through new administrative courts.
